Congratulation to EFM's 34th graduating class!

Twenty-four trainees celebrated the completion of their studies with the Environmental Forum of Marin on Feb. 6 at the Marin Art & Garden Center, with trainees hosting a delicious luncheon for the board and coordinators.

Amy Meyer, author of New Guardians for the Golden Gate, regaled the crowd with stories of the environmental battles fought to protect the spectacular national park in our backyard.

Congratulations, trainees, and welcome to the Environmental Forum of Marin!

Greetings!

February began with a flurry of EFM activity: First Thursday hosted the Minister from Navarra, Spain, our Saturday Workshop series began, and class 34 graduated.

First Thursday Update

Feb FT

About 50 people attended the February First Thursday event which focused on renewable energy generation in the state of Navarra in Northern Spain.

Jose Javier Armendariz, the Minister of Industry and Technology, Commerce and Labor, began his presentation with a beautifully produced short film of Navarra featuring its sustainable energy resources and its gorgeous rolling fields, mountains, and countryside.

The general reaction of the audience was one of inspiration, realizing what can be done to become independent in primarily renewable energy.

Among several excellent byproducts of this cooperation is that sustainable energy development in Navarra has stimulated the succesful launch of leading renewable energy technology companies, significant educational programs, and facilities to train people to work in highly skilled jobs and careers.

Next week, Mar 1st FIRST THURSDAY presents:
a Program on Plastics, led by Stuart Moody with participation by some Class 34 graduates
