Sustainable San Rafael meeting on Monday, Sept. 11, 7-9pm at Tamalpais Bank, San Rafael office, 851 Irwin St.
Anyone joining or renewing memberhsip in Sustainable San Rafael at a minimum $30 level will receive a free copy of Vinit Allen's new Sustainable World SourceBook.
The evening's agenda will cover Sustainable Housing Choices, Pros and Cons of SMART, and next steps on San Rafael's Green Building Program.

Environmentalist and best-selling author, Paul Hawken will be speaking at Marin’s premier food event, Taste of Marin 2006. Held once again at the beautiful Saint Vincent’s School for Boys in San Rafael. Chefs will offer a variety of specialties made from organic produce, grass-fed beef, cheese, seafood, local wines, and even locally produced organic ice cream!

Hydroforce: An Interactive Waterwheel Workshop exploring water, energy and the points in between. Here's a chance to learn about many new initiatives coming together at the local level, SF's community choice plan, the State's new emphasis on melding water, energy conservation, and how climate change and peak oil imperatives change our local outlook.

NEW East Bay Environmental Training!!

Arl Nadel, a graduate of last year's EFM Training, Class of 33, has founded the East Bay Environmental Training. This will be a six-week immersion course providing participants with a sustainability and justice framework for understanding local and global issues.
The classes will run Saturdays, October 7, 2006 - November 11, 2006 Time: 10am - 4pm Location: Various locations throughout the East Bay. Cost: $75 - $150, sliding scale. (One year Ecology Center membership included.)
