Earth Forum Report
|
|
We are excited to announce that the Sustainable Earth Forum (previously called the Training Program) Class 35 is officially underway!
We have 35 amazing trainees, each with something special to offer the organization and community-at-large.
Orientation Day was spent at the Lyford House in Tiburon with the Board hosting a delicious lunch. Geology and Plant Communities Days were spent in the field, graced with spectacular weather.
We're looking forward to 15 more fun and stimulating classes. In October we study Wildlife at Marin Headlands, Agriculture/Mariculture in West Marin, and on the last field day we examine the Baylands off East Marin. Classroom days begin with Energy on October 30th.
If you weren't able to join us this year, or know someone who wanted to but couldn't, please contact our Admissions director to find out about the Seminar Series in early 2008 (see below) or to join Class 36 next year.

Making Sense of Community Choice Power
|
|
Community Choice Power (aka Community Choice Aggregation) is a new approach to electric power that would allow a local power authority to act as our "purchasing agent" for wholesale electricity, while PG&E would continue to provide all the transmission, distribution and billing services.
Here's your chance to get the facts on these issues and understand the next steps for both the County and the City of San Rafael.
Monday, October 8, 7:00PM
City Council Chambers, San Rafael City Hall 1400 Fifth Avenue (Between D and E streets)
Panelists: Charles McGlashan, Dawn Weisz and Paul Fenn Ken Nordhoff
Lots of time for public Q&A. Please Join Us!

* vessel sewage pump-out stations
* sea grass and habitat protection
* boater information exchange to promote safe and sanitary boating practices.
